Hi, girls and boy!

Here you have the song that we are going to sing this week: "Santa Baby", sung by Taylor Swift. It sounds great, isn't it?

I leave you the lyrics, with the part that each one has to sing. Try to learn your part and translate it. Good luck!

I post the link too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGOBA4lE7Mg

Don't worry, you're not going to be alone. I'm gonna help you! :). You can sing with someone if you are going to feel better, ok? I think that Iratxe and Gema told me to sing together, so I have given them the same part. I think that's all. Remember, the dictionary is your friend!!! http://www.wordreference.com/ And the google translator is your enemy :).

SANTA BABY LYRIC.

Sara:
Santa baby
Slip a sable
Under the tree
For me
I've been
An awful good girl
Santa baby

Everybody:
So hurry down
The chimney tonight

Iria:
Santa baby
A '54 convertible
Too, light blue
Well
I'll wait up for you
Dear, santa baby

Everybody:
So hurry down
The chimney tonight
Yeah

Iratxe and Gema:
Think of all
The fun I've missed
Think of all the boys
I haven't kissed
Next year I could be
Just as good
If you check off
My Christmas list

Jessica:
Santa baby
I want a yacht
And really
That's not a lot
I've been an angel
All year
Santa baby

Everybody:
So hurry down
The chimney tonight

María:
Santa, honey
There's one more thing
I really do need
The deed
To a platinum mine
Santa honey

Everybody:
So hurry down
The chimney tonight

Laura:
Come and trim
My Christmas tree
With some decorations
Bought at Tiffany's
I really do
Believe in you

Everybody:
Let's see
If you believe in me

Alex and Carol:
Santa baby
Forgot to mention
One little thing
A ring
And I don't mean
On the phone
Santa baby

Everybody:
So hurry down
The chimney tonight

Hello there!

How are you? Are you ready to start your promising photonovels? Remember that we are going to make them with a special application of the tablet :).

These days we have been studying the past simple of the regular verbs and the past simple of verb to be:

Here you have the past of verb to be:

Watch the video to see some useful examples:

If you want to find it, the name of the video is:

Past Simple: English Language

To say goodbye, I leave you with the song that we were coreographing on Monday. You can practise at home and think about the dance steps that we need to finish it!

The name of the song is: "All I want for Christmas is you". I think it is a cheerful song with a lovely message. Enjoy it :).

Hi there!

How are you? I hope you're fine and full of energy to take all the photos that we need for the photonovels!

Last week we were reviewing the past tense of verb to be. Watch this video about it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1VaMner9xs

This week we're going to review Present Continuous and There is/There are. We'll see as well how to form the past tense with regular verbs. I leave you here some notes of There is/There are:

There Are with ANY

When we want to indicate that a zero quantity of something exists we use there aren't any.
  • There aren't any people at the park.
  • There aren't any lampposts in my street.
We also use this structure with uncountable nouns:
  • There isn't any water in the glass.
  • There isn't any salt in my salad.

Questions

To form a question we place is / are in front of there.
Again we use any with plural questions or those which use uncountable nouns.
We also use there is / are in short answers.
  • Is there a cat in the house? - No, there isn't.
  • Are there any cats in the house? - Yes, there are.

How Many with Are There

If we want to find out the number of objects that exist we use How many in the following form:
How many + plural noun + are there (+ complement).
  • How many cats are there in your house?

And to say goodbye, here you have two photos of your story :):

Hello everybody!

This week has been interesting. We have finished the stories for the photonovels and have started making the storyboards in order to know what photos we need to take. We have decided that you are going to tell your stories in twelve photos. It isn't going to be easy, but we are getting ready!

Remember, next week we have to finish the storyboard and make the costumes according to the character that you are going to be.

If we have time, we will work with this song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9UU5grBceM

I leave you with some useful notes about "There is" and "There are". In the next class you will do exercises about this and we will see better how to write questions with "There is" and "There are" and the use of "any".

Positive Sentences

We use there is for singular and there are for plural.
  • There is one school bag in the classroom.
  • There are three pencils in the pencil case.
  • There is a roach in the bathroom.
  • There are many people at the party.

Contractions

The contraction of there is is there's.
  • There's a roach in the bathroom.
You can't contract there are.
  • There are birds cats in the cage.

Negative Form

The negative is formed by putting not after is or are:
  • There is not a horse in the field.
  • There are not eight children in the school.
The Negative contractions are:
There's not = There isn't
There are not = There aren't

Hi there!

We have been so busy the last week. We have been developing the stories for our photonovels. And there's a long work to do yet! But there's nothing you can't get with the effort, talent and creativity that you are showing in the class.

Today I want to give you a tool that is going to help you a lot. It's an online dictionary.

 http://www.wordreference.com/

You will find all the words that you need and not only that. In the forums you can look at solved problems about grammar, vocabulary, translations...

By the way, I leave you with an useful video about comparatives and superlatives:

Hello! I hope you have had a scary Halloween! This week has been really special. We've made a really original Halloween postcard and built up a house of horror. You had to choose a monster and create his/her house thinking about the special features of the chosen Halloween creature. For example, Dracula had in his kitchen bottles of blood instead of bottles of milk.

We were practising our best scary expressions and this was the result:

Remember the question: "What are you afraid of?" and the answer: "I'm afraid of..."

And here is the task for Wednesday. You have to watch this short chapter of Casper and answer some questions that I'm going to tell you on Monday.

Probably, you're not going to unterstand everything. Don't try to do it, because you're going to freeze! Keep calm, open your ears and your eyes, try to get the general meaning. You'll see that you understand more than you expect at the first time!

See you on Monday!!

Yesterday we were playing a game called: "Take the imaginary photo". We were representing different scenes (a wedding, a concert, a funeral, a UFO abduction...) in order that our partners figure out what the scene was about. It was really amusing and you learnt new vocabulary!

For the weekend, I want you to listen to this two songs, read the lyrics in the video, and choose your favourite one.

1. Baby you can drive my car - The Beatles.

2. Starlight - Muse.

Next week we will work with the song that you prefer.

See you on Monday!

Hello everybody! Welcome to your space. This is the blog in which you will see your homework, extra material, videos, songs and, sometimes, even games.

I remind you that you have to think about what character you want to be in the photo novel we are going to make as project for this first trimester. We decided to make up a story with adventure, fantasy and a dose of comedy.

I leave you here an example of a real photo novel, so you can see how our work is going to look like.

See you on Wednesday!

P. S. Don't forget for next day the authorizations signed by your parents!
