Hello girls and boy!

How are you?

We have short time to finish our journey together. Some of you are going to high school, and, honestly, I am going to miss you. Let's say goodbye in the best way that we can.

I hope you are working on the Thriller lyrics. Last day we moved forward a lot with the coreography and it's going to be really creepy.

I leave you here the lyrics, just in case you don't have them (but you can read them in the video).

THRILLER
It's close to midnight
Something evil's a-lurkin'in the dark
Under the moonlight
You see a sight that almost stops your heart
You try to scream
But terror takes the sound before you make it
You start to freeze
As horror looks you right between the eyes
You're paralyzed

'Cause this is thriller
Thriller at night
And no one's gonna save you
From the beast about to strike
You know it's thriller
Thriller at night
You're fighting for your life
Inside a killer
Thriller tonight, yeah

You hear the door slam
And realize there's nowhere left to run
You feel the cold hand
And wonder if you'll ever see the sun
You close your eyes
And hope that this is just imagination
But all the while
You hear a creature creepin' up behind
You're outta time

'Cause this is thriller
Thriller at night
There ain't no second chance
Against the thing with the forty eyes, girl
Thriller
Thriller at night
You're fighting for your life
Inside a killer
Thriller tonight

Night creatures callin'
The dead start to walk in their masquerade
There's no escaping the jaws of the alien this time
(They're open wide)
This is the end of your life
They're out to get you
There's demons closing in on every side
They will possess you
Unless you change that number on your dial
Now is the time
For you and I to cuddle close together, yeah
All through the night
I'll save you from the terror on the screen
I'll make you see

That this is thriller
Thriller at night
'Cause I can thrill you more
Than any ghoul would ever dare try
(Thriller)
(Thriller at night)
So let me hold you tight
And share a
(Killer, diller, chiller)
(Thriller here tonight)

'Cause this is thriller
Thriller at night
Girl, I can thrill you more
Than any ghoul would ever dare try
(Thriller)
(Thriller at night)
So let me hold you tight
And share a
(Killer, thriller)

I'm gonna thrill you tonight

Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize your neighborhood
And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of hell
And rot inside a corpse's shell

I'm gonna thrill you tonight
(Thriller, thriller)
I'm gonna thrill you tonight
(Thriller night, thriller))
I'm gonna thrill you tonight
Ooh, babe, I'm gonna thrill you tonight
Thriller at night, babe

The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller

I leave you as well a video about asking for and giving directions, really useful if you are going to travel abroad these Holidays!

Hi girls and boy!

How are you?

I hope you are learning the chorus of "Thriller", Michael Jackson's song :). We have few days to finish this short and exciting trimester. I know that you are tired because of the exams that you have in your school, but it's just the last trimester, cheer up!!

Do you know that "Thriller" was the first videoclip in the world (in de modern sense)?

Here you have it, with lyrics. Remember, just learn the chorus:

I'm so in love with the choreographies of this video.

These days we have been reviewing the demonstrative pronouns: this, that, these, those. Here you have a video explaining them. Watch it and remember! It's really easy for you :). You will find some useful examples.

We have been studying the future form going to:

We use 'going to' when we want to talk about a plan for the future.
  • I'm going to see her tomorrow.
  • They're going to launch it next month.
  • We're going to have dinner now.
Notice that this plan does not have to be for the near future.
  • When I retire I'm going to go back to Barbados to live.
  • In ten years time, I'm going to be boss of my own successful company.
We use 'going to' when we want to make a prediction based on evidence we can see now.
  • Look out! That cup is going to fall off.
  • Look at those black clouds. It's going to rain soon.
We can replace 'going to go' by 'going'.
  • I'm going out before you.
  • She's going to the cinema on Wednesday.
Check this video to review it! You'll see that our baby dragon, Rocky, is there!

Hi there!

How are you?

At last I can show you your work. The short film that you have recorded in the second trimester. It's been such a nice time of preparing the coreographies, the text, the story, the description of the characters... And here is the result of all those days. I'm really proud of you.

Congratulations for filming a short of... almost 20 minutes!

Now, enjoy it and show it to your families. I'm sure they'll enjoy it as well!

See you on Monday, girls and boy.

Hi there!

How are you? I hope you are having a good time. The weather is really good for outdoor activities!

Finally, I stay at home for Easter. I am working now in the edition of the short musical film that you have filmed and soon I will be able to show it to you.

Last day I forgot a very important thing... HOMEWORK!

Here you have the video of the story of Easter (catholic version). It is, as you know, a religious Holiday and it's interesting to know its origin (no matter if we are believers or atheistic). And it's more interesting to find out that its true origin is.... Guess what? Pagan :).

Read this text:

"The name "Easter" originated with the names of an ancient Goddess and God. The Venerable Bede, (672-735 CE.) a Christian scholar, first asserted in his book De Ratione Temporum that Easter was named after Eostre (a.k.a. Eastre). She was the Great Mother Goddess of the Saxon people in Northern Europe. Similarly, the "Teutonic dawn goddess of fertility [was] known variously as Ostare, Ostara, Ostern, Eostra, Eostre, Eostur, Eastra, Eastur, Austron and Ausos." Her name was derived from the ancient word for spring: "eastre." Similar Goddesses were known by other names in ancient cultures around the Mediterranean, and were celebrated in the springtime"

It explains that there was a goddes of fertility. Then, Catholicism assimilated this celebration in order to delete it from the popular tradition. But, thanks to internet we know the true :D.

Watch this video about the catholic version of Easter celebration and answer these questions:

1. What is this video about?
2. Who did betray Jesus?
3. Who did deny Jesus three times?
4. What do the catholic people celebrate in Easter?
5. What's your favourite part of the poem?

See you soon!

Hi girls and boy!

How do you do? I'm so proud of you. These days you have been working so hard to complete the amazing musical that we are going to film next week.  You have been writing the texts, working in the coreographies and showing them to your partners...

Today I leave you with an useful video to work with the verbs. You don't have to forget the grammar!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL0dsiTf5QE

Let's review the future tense using the verb "To play":

POSITIVE

I will play / I'll play
You will play / You'll play
He will play / He'll play
She will play / She'll play
It will play / It'll play
We will play / We'll play
You will play / You'll play
They will play / They'll play

NEGATIVE

I will not play / I won't play
You will not play  / You won't play
He will not / He won't play
She will not play / She won't play
It will not play / It won't play
We will not play / We won't play
They will not play / They won't play

We use WILL:
1. For things that we decide to do now.
  • I'll get you to the airport.
2. When we think or believe something about the future.
  • I think it will snow later.
3. To make an offer, a promise or a threat.
  • will have it finished by tomorrow.

Hi there!

I'm so sorry that I haven't writen before, but I've been really busy all these days preparing the launching of the album of my music band.

And, well, these days have been musical too :). We have been working with songs and have decided that our project for this trimester is going to be a musical short film of fantasy. We have chosen the songs that will appear in the film, but there's a lot of work to do from now!

We have been learning too the song of "Let it go", which is going to be the ending song of our project. Sincerely, you are really good at learning songs in English (specially if you like them). It's a fact that your pronunciation and comprehension have improved!

Here you have the video with the karaoke version. Practice!! :)
